Favorite Products and a Giveaway!

I am quickly becoming an Amazon lover.  We signed up for a free month of Prime this summer, and I’m hooked!  Below are items on my foster care wish list and an item I’m giving away at the end, so keep scrolling!

Giveaway at the bottom!

1) Bonus Mom Mug

I love coffee, and unlike bowls and plates, I love a cabinet full of eclectic and unique mugs.  At the bottom it reads, “Not a significant source of gratitude received.”  You know it’s true!

2) Dandelion Wish Pendant Necklace

I love the dandelion to represent hope and childlike whimsy.  It’s the perfect, understated message I want as a reminder around my neck.  Added bonus is that it has great reviews and is super affordable with free shipping!

3) Mermaid Pillow

I had no idea this was a thing until I stumbled upon it one day looking for throw pillows.  Mermaid pillows have reversible sequins with a different color on each side.  You can draw shapes and words by moving your finger across the pillow (kind of like your grandma’s couch).  Several brands ranged around $50, but I found a brand with great reviews for a much lower price.  I’m thinking about getting this for my son for Christmas. My only question is this: why did anyone care about fidget spinners when we had these?

4) Liquid Dance Floor Mat

This 12″ x 12″ nonslip mat is filled with bright colored liquid.  Like someone mentioned in the product comments, it would be a great sensory input for babies or a child with special needs.  It’s also durable enough for a long-term floor covering.

5) 3 Minute Timer

These are the timers the preschool teachers in our area use, and I can’t believe I haven’t gotten one sooner.  I was given a small, board game sized, 3 minute timer from the dentist to help my son know how long to brush.  It’s a great idea, but its size makes it prone to getting easily bumped and misplaced.  This timer is sturdy and gives a visual for younger kids to keep track of time.  You can get it in different time increments, but it gets expensive if you want 2-3.  I can adapt and use the 3 minute timer for just about anything.

 6) Belly Fanny Pack

This last one isn’t on theme, but I had to sneak it in.

Fanny packs are already wonderful.  This belly fanny pack is ah-mazing.  I think this deserves to be on hand for a white elephant gift.

The Giveaway: Muslin Swaddle Blankets

These muslin swaddle blankets from Didi and Bhai are well made and have adorable prints on them.  I purchased a set of these for an infant who needed frequent swaddling.  It’s a little more expensive than the SwaddleMe sleep sacks and takes a bit of practice to get the hang of wrapping it yourself instead of the easy of velcro of the sleep sack.  However, what I loved about these swaddle blankets is that they’re so light and breathable.  If you have a baby who sweats or is always warm, these are the perfect solution.  Another benefit of coughing up the extra few dollars for these is that they can be used for other purposes than just swaddling.  When your infant graduates from the swaddle stage, it can be used as a blanket/cover, burp rag, use it for tummy time, or over the car seat or stroller to keep the wind out but allow baby to breathe.  I also messaged the company and they were extremely helpful and returned my message the same day.

Sooo, if you’d like to win a set of these swaddle blankets, all you have to do is click the link below.  You will be asked to comment on any post on Still Orphans Blog.
